Principled volume

I cant use density with cycles no matter how basic the scene. hooked up an 8k HDRI for the environmental texture (color) then added principled volume. The only object in the scene is a cube. On eevee I can play with density and emission all I want, if I switch to cycles the scene will not render unless density and emission strength are 0. cycles seems to work fine as long as I dont touch that but … density too good for concept.

I seems that many things break cycles for me. I also cannot hook up mapping

Sometimes you need to remove the “density” attribute from the shader. Also, you need a texture coordinate node before the mapping. (you can also press Ctrl+T after selecting an image texture with node wrangler enabled)
