Hi all,
I am a relative newbie to blender/Linux having previously given up in frustration in my attempts to master the ubuntu distro version (2.49a at the time). I am currently working with ubuntu 11.04 (classic desktop works for me) and finally risked downloading blender 2.64 and running it straight from the desktop recently and this seems to work fine. If there is a better way of installing 2.64 of or if I can expect problems ahead using this route I would be delighted to hear about it now but in the meantime my current problem is with animating the Norman rig using shape keys to create the phoneme shapes for lipsynching with papagayo.
It seems to work fine when I create new mouth shape keys by just mixing the predefined mouth shapes and then saving them using the shape key specials/create new shape key from mix option. The problem is that if I use the the jaw modifier to open the jaw as part of the mix then this is not saved to the shape key mix and I can find no pre-defined jaw movement shapes in the set-up that would, presumably, do the trick.
Any advice for incorporating the jaw movements into the shape key menu (or creating new jaw shape keys if these are a necessary first step) would be appreciated.
That I have missed something in the endless tutorials and web surfing I have engaged in for the past week is clear…but what?
thanks in advance for any help or tips offered…
