problem baking shadows from multirez

so i thought i’d add a bit more detail by baking some AO from my multirez but this happened.



idk where these spots are coming from.
Any ideas on why they’re there and how to get rid of them?

1 solution I can think of would be to duplicate your object, move it to the second layer, apply the multi-res modifier on the new object and bake from that.
And if that doesn’t work, perhaps consider the following:

  • Removing all “doubles”
  • Re-unwrapping your UVs (With “project from view” from top-down view)
    and,
  • Raising the multi-res until the problem goes away, or your computer starts fading in and out of consciousness.
