Problem - help needed please, BI node editor. Solved!

I’m experiencing a problem I’ve had before, and not been able to resolve. Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve created BI node materials and a world texture with no problems. I then switched to cycles to aid my camera movement in an animation. This was to be able to quickly and easily see the world texture in 3d view, to fine tune camera movement. To do this I created a cycles environment texture as usual. So far so good, (except the 90deg offset from BI equirectangular texture. Why does it do that? Easily fixed with a mapping node, but still, why?).

Here is the issue, when I return to BI, and select my previously created material, it does not show in the node editor. It still works, with textures, but it just won’t show in the editor. Instead all I see is the cycles world texture. The header bar has changed, there is no use nodes box, and a new world material selector is visible. Even if I delete the world texture, save and reload, the problem remains.

Solution:

I had a brainwave before I finished the post, and after I’d typed it all, I thought I’d post it anyway, with the solution, in case anyone else experiences this.

Go back into cycles, node editor, ensure material view is selected in the node editor. Return to BI, the material now sows in the editor. Simple. Not even a problem really, but if you don’t know how to do it, and I couldn’t find the documentation, it becomes a problem.

How do you mark a post as solved?
