Problem: Layered painted textures not visible in render mode yet appears otherwise correctly

I’m trying to create the same setup in 2.79 as discussed in the video (for 2.80 beta):

Blend file included beneath: I successfully placed a painted image texture with transperancy atop another in material mode yet with no appearance in rendermode. Can someone tell me, what is missing?

No shader node in your graph. Use a node from the Shader category (e.g. Diffuse, Principled) and place between the Mix and Output nodes.
