Problem starting 2.40

I extract the files and I get the error message

“This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”

Already tried to re-install, but it did not fix the problem.

You could try to download msvcr71.dll and put it to your x:\windows\system32. Perhaps it works then.

You need a copy of MSVCR71.dll pasted into your system directory, or even download the Microsoft C Runtime Library package.
