Problem with 'BevOB'

Ok, so yesterday I started working on the ‘Ride Through a Mine’ tutorial- and I’m stuck. I’m to the part where they want you to take a curve (the actual ‘rail’ piece), and bevel it along a path. As you can see, I’ve got my ‘rail’ and my path. [Tutorial link–> http://www.blendernation.com/tutorials/blender-3d-beginner-tutorial-a-ride-through-the-mines/]

But when I do what the tutorial says and bevel the rail along the path, it goes all wonky. Anyone care to explain why?

Thing is- tt works fine when the path is straight- Why? Do I have to mess with the ‘curve follow’ or ‘curve path’ buttons or something?

Ctrl-A on both before typing in the BevOb. (also call your Curve “Rail” and your Curve.001 “Shape” or “Profile” or sumsuch to make it easier for all of us to see from your pics what you’ve done).

Bah- that didn’t help either. Look-

I made both curves, did the whole ‘Ctrl-A’ thing, then used Bev.Ob… It’s supposed to look something like this…

(Pic from tut)…

You’re supposed to select the Rail and type in the name of the Curve that will be the “shape” into its BevOb field. I can’t see from any of your pics if you’ve done it that way round or got them farce about ace.
