Problem with bone parenting

After I parented the object to the amature with automatic weights, The object is deformed. I cant understand why

Probably unapplied scales on the armature and/or mesh. Post the blend file please.

Not sure exactly what the issue is, but in these circumstances when the Pose Position and Rest Position do not match and there is no visible key framing, I would normally key Spacebar and then type “Clear T-Pose” to reset everything back to normal, however I got this error when I tried it:


So I think there is something wrong with the armature - also I do not really like some of the bone naming convention in the spine and legs, it is more normal to use names like “spine-lower”, “spine-middle”, “thigh.L” etc. it make for easier working of the armature and animation. Maybe someone else needs to look at this as well.
