I’m new to Blender, and using 2.58. A previously posted comment by Richard Marklew said that using a named grouping of several uniquely coloured cubes, then calling that group name–linking it with the emitter-object (a simple plane)–with “use random” checked on in the render settings (ie: render from GROUP, not render from selected single OBJECT) is supposed to generate objects randomly selected from that group—well, I can’t get it to work… Has anybody???
Please advise!

Thanks for posting the demo file—however I don’t see any colours–and I’m damned if I can find the LOCATIONS of any of the primitive shapes (cone sphere cube, etc.) that you are using in the scene! Is there an online tutorial for this “simple” task? I must be overlooking something obvious, but I’m damned if I know what! Thanks…
