Problem with onBoard Graphic card S3 Savage...

Hi,
a few days ago I installed blender on my WinXP System
with an on Board S3 Savage …DDR graphic card.

Unfortunately I’ve got some Problems with the Display.
The mouse cursor always blinks and when I
click on a button the appearing window flackers and scrolls
a bit.

I installed the latest driver for the graphic card.
As I know from other graphic software it isn’t 100% compatible
to directx9. Could this be a reason ?

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

thanks!

eh… I don’t think so… blender uses openGL, not direct X per se.

Oh yeah… with “dodgy” cards sometimes setting a different color depth can help a lot. So if it’s currently 32bit try 24… or 16…

Part of the problem could be this (if you;re using windows):

I used to have a flickering mouse cursor problem. I went into my control panel and turned off the pointer shadow option. It stopped the flickering.

Okay, I turned off the pointer shadow. That stops the flickering.
But even after changing colour depth to 16bit I have still the
problem that the buttons scroll a bit when pointer on them with
the mouse. Well it is not really a big problem but it would be
nice if I could solve it.

Anyway thanks for the help at this point.
