I always have got problems with objects and characters’ dimensions. I often, download models from internet, and when I import character into the scene, it’s too big, so I use the scale function, but it’s become too small respect other objects of the scene . Imagine this scene a character who enter in a edifice, throught a door. Are there rules reguard the proportions in one scene with obiects and characters.
Try this
First set your units in metric or imperial system in the Scene panel

Now select a character object , then press N to bring the N-panel and check the Transform tab

For my case i would like the character to be 1.70m tall, but looking at the Dimensions, that model height (that is using the Z axis dimension in my scene) have my object 11.142 meters tall !
So click on the 11.142 entry and type 1.70 instead

Now the problem is that the other dimensions haven’t adjusted so i have a model that is 1.70m tall but is insanely large.
So now look into the Scale, on the Z axis that is now set to 0.153
Change then the X and Y that are set to 1.00 into 0.153 too

So now i have my character exactly 1.70m tall and keeping its exact X and Y proportions too.
You may want to press CTRL+A -> Scale to apply those scale change, but in case you’re playing with animations, it could lead into problems so adjust accordingly to what you’re doing.
Thank you very much for you answer, already somebody told me, using this technique, but if I must modeling a skryskraper 400 meters hight , I must use the scale 1.100.mmm, 2 meters became 400 meters, my characters proportions are always too small, here is the result is this

So a friend of mine, many good with blender suggestioned me a others technique, import the character and modeling all, using characters’ measure, in this way you don’t wrong. So I resolved my problem.
