Problem with rendering glass material

Hello, I am new to blender and 3d modeling in general. I’m not sure if it is the lighting, but when i render with glass material I am getting what looks like shadow being cut off half-way down the object. I would just like someone who is more experienced than me to tell me what I’m doing wrong

My problem is that the top of the object is darker than the bottom half. Is it supposed to look like this, and if it is, is there a way to make that transition from dark to light smoother?

If anyone has any suggestions or tips to fix this please let me know, I am i beginner so any help will be great.

No problem, just ignorance . Black are reflections of environment. Use IBL (there’s also an addon) Please learn & get to know basics first.
