Problem with rendering

why do I get this renderfail on the texture with the blender render and not with the cycles render?
What am I doing wrong?

Blender Render:

Cycles Render:

Remove any duplicated overlapping objects
Remove any duplicated vertices (select all vertices and W / remove doubles)
Recalculate face normals
Check for any remaining duplicate overlapping faces
