Problem with Saving an Image

I’m kind of a newbie at this, but I’m having a problem which I cannot figure out.

Okay, so I created a spaceship using Blender, and now I want to save it as a JPEG image. First, I render the image. Except I don’t see anything, just black. I didn’t know that that was a preview of the rendered image at the time, so I go down and change the format to JPEG, then save the image as Spaceship.jpg in the My Pictures folder.

Then I open it and it’s the black thing I saw in the render window.

So mainly, I’m wondering why I can’t see my spaceship thing in the image when I render and after I save it!

Thanks

Have you placed lamps on the scene? You cannot see a thing in the dark.

To change the image format go in display buttons (F10). There is a button which read TARGA. Press that to get a popup menu and choose your posion so to speak. After that just save the image.

Are you sure you have lamps?

Are you sure you rendered with the lamps?

Are you sure your cam is in the right place?

Oopsie… Didn’t add lamps :stuck_out_tongue: lol

Thanks you guys. I’ll try it out.
