Problem with the GIMP

I’ve been using GIMP 2.0 a bit to paint some textures but there is only so much I can do. It has a shared folder where some stuff is saved instead of filling up the ram, so it can swap stuff between the ram and hard drive (as is my understanding anwyay). So you create a swap folder and select it in the preferences. The problem is, whenever I try this the program can’t get the thing to work, so I can only work on an image a little before it keeps spamming me with messages that it can’t find the swap folder.
I tried unistalling and reinstalling but that didn’t work. Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry I forgot to mention that hehe, I’m using Windows XP.

Your fault… Sorry, don’t know anything about XP. But isn’t Gimp creating it’s own temp-folder during setup? Maybe uninstall and manually delete all dirs created by Gimp then install and setup again. I remember that Gimp creates some dirs when you first start it.
