Problem with UVMap Layout exporter

Hello. I’m having some problems with the UV layout exporter; it crashes Blender every time I try to use it.

I’m using Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, Blender 2.45, Python 2.5.1.

Yep. Bad bug. Works fine if you use Blender made for the earlier version of Python.

you could just update manager for Ubuntu now… I think they fixed it for Ubuntu in the new release just put on the repos this week. The latest “as is” blender from blender.org has the crash.

To anyone who can reproduce the crash:

  • Does it also happen with current builds? (your own or from graphicall.org)
  • Can you try editing the script (it’s in your .blender/script folder, called uv_export.py) the script and see if it crashes:
    – 1) Remove everything starting from “if retval:” at the end, including that line
    – 2) Remove everything after “from math import *” at the beginning, excluding that line
    – 3) at the start of the ExportCallback function, add “return” on a new line before the first line of that function.

Current builds don’t crash here on linux 32bit and 2.45 doesn’t crash on win32 last time I used it there.

If there’s a fix for that in Ubuntu, it’d be nice if we could see the changes they did, if they could be ported back.
