i don’t know to post this question so i post it here;)
i bought new computer (Intel core 2duo 3.0Gz, 2gb RAM , Asus 512mb EN8600GT , 500gb HDD, Vista ultimate ) but it’s slower than my previous computer (2.4Gz, 512 RAM, Nvidia Geforce2 mx 400/400 64mb, 60gb HDD, Xp profesional) :no: Maybe someone knows what’s the problem? All drivers are installed;)
Have you tested using the same operating system? Perhaps that makes the difference?
Vista + preinstalled mcaffee/symantec?
As said before, try the same operating system, and try running linux 
as a vista ultimate user, I can sympathise. However, as VIsta takes a bit of time to “bed in” you might find that in a couple of days your pc is running a bit quicker. Vista monitors what you do, and when it detects patterns in your program usage it boosts those particular processes. It just takes some time to build it’s “second-guessing” database, is all.
However, it does eat up a whole gig of ram all for itself. As IanC suggests, you will find that Linux (especially one of the free, 64-bit versions) will run like shi* off a shovel by comparison…

I’m no PC expert, but I’ve heard enough horror stories about Vista to make me think that’s the problem itself.
My money’s on Vista. Downgrade to XP or upgrade to Linux. If you’re not partial to doing either, just throw RAM at it.
My Vista premium is pretty fast with that kind of machine. With ultimate, you have 64 bit address i think, so i would side with 2G more RAM idea, The big difference I saw was on rendering and using the dual cores, but other than that, normal apps in normal mode only use the one core afaik.
