problems texturing the rex

i have almost finished the t-rex model.i know i am going to have nightmares to texture it. i have no idea about how should i approch texturing it…should i use uv mapping or conventional texturing?if uv then how should i map it?cylindrical or circular mapping do not give good results as far as the whole mesh is concerned.if i make different textures for say the head and the legs or the body how should i make them seamless.pleazzz help!! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:
