Problems using image as texture

Ok so I’ve never really tried using an image I’ve manipulated outside of blender as a texture, but I have used images before. And none have given me this issue.

Im making a corona bottle and got an image off the net, unfortunately it was rotated the wrong way. So I adjusted that, cropped, exported and saved…all in Gimp which I am a complete noob in. But its free so what better reason to learn it?

However when I import this image as a texture I get nothing but a grid of + and - signs. Now I feel it useful to know that not only 10 minutes ago I did this same thing and it came out perfectly. But that time I didn’t crop and I hand cut the image…so it didn’t come out 100% the way I wanted, and I redid it.

Attached you’ll find my settings, and a rendered image as it stands now. Any ideas as to what I did wrong?

Not 100% sure but try unchecking the ‘UV Test Grid’ Button.

Tried it, when you do that it’s just a black box. TY though.
Any other ideas?

Hi,

Select Still instead of Generated.

When you went into Face Select mode you must have
clicked on Image and then New and checked the
UV Test Grid button. What you want to do is open an image and
select it from the folder it’s in and then hit R button to get it
turned in the right position.

Does that help?

Issue fixed. I just deleted the texture and did it again! lol ty for all your help.
