Hello,
in a .blend I file (attached, Tuer.blend (498 KB)) I created a door. The door leaf’s rotation is restricted. The door also contains a cube which I intend to use for a boolean operation (difference) in order to cut a hole in a wall.
When I create a second file, with a cube of X-thickness of .115 and Append the other file, of course I have all the objects available and I can use the boolean modifier, or the rotation of the door leaf and everything works fine.
However, I’d rather link the file, not append it. And now my problems start: I still can execute the boolean operation, but when I move the door, the boolean object will not move (see screenshot). Also, I am not able to access my door leaf anymore so I cannot open the door anymore.
I tried using proxys (make proxy)for the door leaf, but did not really succeed, because the rotation restriction does not exist anymore, adding a new constraint partially works, but when I move the control for the door, suddenly I have two door leafs. When rotation the proxy, the second door leaf disappears again (to me a really strange behavior).
Also I am wondering if I need to create an armature (of which I then could create a proxy) in order to open the door properly.
Any hints are highly appreciated.
Best regards
