Problems with texturing / mapping - transparency

Hi. I have followed this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-Zkt3uAeO0 and got some problems. For an unknown reason, when I check textured solid box, an UV shell gets transparent in the viewport and the other not. Also, If I add the checker test texture, I get the same result, one transparent, and the other still grey shaded. (I didn’t mapped the lower dress and the middle, they are separate meshes, no connection with the problematic mesh )What should I do?

Check face normal direction. Flip selected faces (W / Flip normals) or recalculate normals of selected faces (Ctrl+N)
