Problems with User Prefs

Hey,

First of all: I am a blender noob > Sorry for this probably stupid question!

I want to create a basic lighting-setup which loads automaticly, when I start blender (according to a tutorial I saw, this is possible via the user prefs). So I set up a three-point-lighting and I put all items (lights incl. camera) on layer number four. But somehow if I just save the U-Prefs and open a new project, the layer with lights and camera has gone … I am using Blender 2.7 … Does anyone has any ideas??

Save start up file. Right under user preferences on the file menu.

Ahhh … soooo easy. Sorry!! In the tutorial I saw how the guy opened the prefs-panel…
