Procedural Cardboard

Hi all, I am trying to create a relatively simple procedural cardboard texture.

It’s made up of a noise texture to simulate the pulp of the paper [diffuse] and then I’m trying to use a wave texture to create the corrugation [bump].

The problem I am having is that the wave texture looks correct when viewed alone and has a nice smooth [sine] pattern. When used as a bump map though, the smoothness is lost and the pattern looks sharp. See images and attached .blend!

add a color ramp and set it to ease.

that wave texture is really a linear gradient, so the computer reads it as such.
