Maybe this will help. It’s not exactly like the sample you linked to, but you may be able to modify it to suit your needs.

the hardest part is going to be matching an orthogonal view with a procedural texture; true camo painting has the same pattern so that when you look at a tank from the side, you see the same pattern going vertically. More like UV Project modifier than a procedural texture.
