Procedural Texture Test

Well, not much going on at work today, so I thought I would try my hand at procedural wood. This is the result:

Didn’t turn out too bad I think. Anything look like it needs to be changed?

The wood texture needs more work, this may take you awhile because wood texture in blender is a pain, don’t mean the finish, its the grain of the wood I’m refering to. Remember a carpertner always goes with the grain.

Yup,

Texture needs not to be continuous on different pieces of wood

What is that suppose to mean ?

cant see anything… it’s so dark %|
But i guess it looks like crap :stuck_out_tongue: nono, just joking, but can
you brighten it a bit up?

What is that suppose to mean ?[/quote]

Means that it looks like a tabled carved in a single piece of wood rather than a table made of different pieces of wood

Thanks guys! I know about the grain issues, etc., but that is not going to get changed. I was just playing around with this, cause I have not really done any tries at making wood in Blender with the procedurals. I think I did OK and found out a few things that I can use in the future.

If you do decide to change the grain of the wood, I did develop a method of changing the direction, with changing the mapping.
