I think that many of you might find this useful - possibility to read mulltilayered .exr images rendered in Blender in Photoshop. Photoshop ProEXR plug-in was released for free. It works fine with my CS6 Version. You can download it here: http://www.fnordware.com/ProEXR/

Gimp2.9.4 reads the 32 bit openexer already
also Gmic and Nip2 have been able to for a few years

@JohnVV I personally work with OpenExr in Blender’s compositor, but I know that there has always been a problem with opening it in Photoshop. And that problem occured only with Blender’s .exr files.
