Progress D-18T turbofan engine

EDIT updated image

Turbofan engine. Currently trying to figure out how to model the thrust reversers.

can you show us other view at angle

looking good so far

doing it in cycles ?

happy cycles

Here is a view from another angle.
Yes, i’m using cycles
At the moment i have 1036069 verts on the screen

looks great, awesome level of detail. How did you do the half-section?

Thanks  The half section is just a 180° screw modifier. This way i can edit the profile every time i need

But you can also go in edit mode, select everything, click on mesh and then “bisect”. Then left-click and draw the plane you want to cut with. In the panel on the left you can adjust everything and decide which half should be kept, whether you want to fill holes or to keep them

you can find it on the wiki http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Modeling/Meshes/Editing/Subdividing/Bisect

Added injectors, some valves and other stators

1499007 verts

finally thrust reverser added

It’s really great that you’re sticking with the realism. That’s a lot of detail and it looks great.

Wow this is a great model. It is nice and neat. I was actually browsing the web searching for reference to model this (I am working on an An-225 model as a school project for my graduation demo reel). I was feeling good until now thinking there was no detailed models of the plane around. I see now I was wrong, ha ha. Where did you get your references from?

Hey Luca, would you post some wires of it please?

Hi, I just googled ‘d18-t’ and found everything I used to model it. I have been too busy these days to go on with this model, but I’m going to restart working on it soon. I’ll post some wires as soon as I can

Wow, that is pretty awesome. Great job on the detail

I decided to take a break with the engine and I modeled its container
