Project file imported into 4.2 has broken glass shaders

I have a project file that I created in 3.6.9 and I have imported it into 4.2. This project includes a glass shader, which is opaque in 4.2. I found a tutorial explaining how to do glass in eevee next, and the option he selects (raytraced transmission) is not present:

New materials created in the imported project are similarly poisoned with opaque glass.

The only other difference I’ve found in the various settings menus is the old project has the performance options in a different place:

What is necessary to upgrade the project so I can enable the missing Raytraced Transmission option? Is there a post outlining all the changes that are necessary to make an imported project work the same as a new project?

EVEE (blender 3.6.9) and EVEE-Next (blender 4.2) are different.

Please refer to the video.

Raytraced transmission is only available when material properties render method is set to Dithered.
