"Project from view" unwrap operation produces bad UVs (Map is correct, result is not)

When I unwrap a simple cube (6 faces) using “project from view” the faces are all messed up:

my UV map is correct, but it doesn’t show up right. I know I can add more faces to make it less noticeable, but I really dont want to have to subdivide it like 5 times. Can anyone help me with this?
