Hi.
Some of you may have seen my posts of a short film being done with Blender and Pixar’s Renderman, if not you can read up on it here …
I am requesting an animator to help with this project. I originally posted this ad in 2018 with no response so I am trying again hopefully this will grab someone’s attention. I am just not getting it right and a creature animator would help immensely. The project was a world wide collaboration effort for a couple of years before it was shelved in 2013, however I restarted it in 2018 and have been steadily but slowly completing it. However the real hard animation parts are now upon me and I am finding it difficult to continue, so I have been getting all the other shots done. Most of the short film is complete, it just needs some creature animation done to my spider rig that I just can’t wrap my head around.
To do this would require the use on Syncthing, if you have not used this before it’s real easy to setup. This is a simple file sync system I found that will avoid sending large files over other ways that would cause confusion and the way I have my setup it works well.
This a volunteer “position” and I know that is asking a lot to contribute your time and energy to something with no payoff and I understand that aspect as I have contributed my time and effort to other projects myself. This is almost done, there is certainty that it will be released on YouTube among other video sharing sites in the future and I am working on credits for past contributors. Your name will be included if you participate for sure.
There is no plans to sell this, market this or otherwise make any money off of this. The point of this short film was to highlight the power of Blender and Renderman together only, as to date there is still nothing out there as involved as this project I have seen, this would be a first short film using the two technologies together.
Anyone who is willing to participate can contact me here for now, either a reply to this post or private messaging.
I also have a blog I update from time to time if you want to read up on the history of Project Widow since it started in 2009…
