above is the link to the project that i’m currently working on… this is my first project in BGE… it will be pretty obvious once you take a look… can you please suggest some things on how i can improve the game… it’s not yet complete (haven’t added enemies, etc) but i know it can use some help with regards to texturing, lighting and poly-count management…
thanks in advance…
WOW! That is halariouse! When I opened it, I didnt even bother to look what it was, so I just pressed P. Kind of scared me at first. lol. Infact dont post a picture of it, it will give it away. Just one question. Why would you put Jessejps model in there. Im sure you will change it, but change it fast, it really really doesnt fit. lol. I love the camera angles you did when he falls. Oh and is that your tounge?
thank you guys for the comments… i can’t blame you if you will call this project “copy and paste” (or append due to blender lingo)… the character, just like what Meat said was made by Jessegp (don’t worry, i asked for his permission), while the mouth was from one of the free model repositories in blender3d.org… can you guys please give some suggestions with the character as well as on other game aspects (lighting, poly-count management, etc)… to those who will give suggestions, please also include the “how-to…” thanks in advance!
wow, nice idea meat! there is a commercial here in the philippines (safeguard) where the main character is captain safeguard… i was thinking that maybe i should use him, but now that i’ve read your suggestion, it sounds better to me… the sad part is that I won’t be changing the character until I was able to finish all the levels…
update:
i’ve made a rough (very bare) stomach level (this time, i’m the one who modelled it)… no textures and i tried running the character inside… at first, it seems like there’s nothing wrong, but try running into the wall consistently and after sometime, you’ll be able to pass through it… i’m going to upload a .blend, can somebody please help me figure this one out… thanks for all your help!!! http://www.savefile.com/files/478266
It ran about 10 fps on my computer. To speed it up, press hotkey “A”(select all) and then press “S” for scale. I think you could scale it to about 1/5 its current side. If you do it right, you should gain a longer range of sight and 2X the fps.
a “speed up reply”… thanks, this should help alot!!
have somebody looked into the stomach level and the problem related to it? i still can’t figure out why my character can pass through the stomach after consistently walking into the wall…
ok I modeled the basic char, Tell me if this is quite what you were going for. I have a walk animation which is like jets I’ll make fire come out of his butt when he moves. Working on the fight animation. When he fights do you want him to just punch? Or should I make him a pill blaster where he shoots pills at his enemies? Tell me what you think of him.
I’ll post then blend when he’s finished. Also I was kinda depating I could make him like this. Or I can Make him a huge buff pill guy although I don’t wanna copy off of osmosis jones with the big buff pill http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/images/movie/large/Osmosis_Jones.jpg but, w.e you decide.
Turn your little scene changin’ cube to a plane that spans the back of the mouth.
Reverse the forward steering just for the mouth shot.
The ghosting problem comes from you character’s complex collision bounds. Don’t worry about it now, but when you replace him with a pill, make sure his bounds are good
Overall, clever idea! Can’t wait to see it finished.
