Is there any way I can hide certain parts of an object when I am projection painting? So that I can easily texture each part separately?
You could get an Onion branch build from graphicall and use the new masking feature, its rather good for painting low poly objects, not sure about high poly stuff though.
in edit-mode select the only faces to be painted on and
in texture-paint-mode there is a little icon in the window-bar
- a icon with a cube and a red-white-checkerd front face -
its online-help says: Face selection masking for painting
Then painting is limited to those selected faces of the uv-unwrap-image.
edit: you have to press this icon-button to activate … and for changes of face-selections again …
