Proposal Blender Class online

If you hear of VNC then you know what I am getting to. It would require a fast internet, but it will enable someone to teach you blender though this software, as well as help you when your stuck with live (well delayed but fast enough) feedback. Then maybe use teamspeak to for speaking. If I can get my computer moved to my room I’d be up to doing this.

What is VNC?
It lets you veiw 1 or more desktop @ once as well (if admin) take control of the desktop. Link http://www.realvnc.com/

I know verse would let you share a 3d envoriment together, but verse is still dev and harcoding in blender will defintly take a while. Anyone willing to join me?

Real VNC sucks. Use TightVNC. It has compression and is completely free and is completely compatible with Real VNC. We use TightVNC at work instead of Real VNC.

VNC (Virtual Network Computing) software makes it possible to view and fully-interact with one computer from any other computer or mobile device anywhere on the Internet.

That’s kind of risky and dangerous in my opinion.

yes, putting your computer in some place internet accessable is risky and dangerous

like remotely logging onto a server, use of vnc [or remote desktop features windoze has] does require a login… there isn’t really anything wrong with doing this.

Sutabi: are you saying that vnc will allow multiple viewers?

VNC allows you to set up a vertiral desktop, you have the option to only have veiwers see your screen or take control over it. So each person can set up a server and connect to someone elses to see what they are doing. Of corse there is password protection. As for max veiwer, it may be fairly low since downloaidng a 800x600 jpg screen can be cumberson.

Actually if you use ULTRAVNE you can do file tranfers and chat also. It includes Tight, zilb, hextile and a few other encoding methods. Best of all there is a DSM(Data Stream Modification) plugin that lets you encrypt the data stream between the viewer and the server with up to 128bit RC4 encryption. This is the same encryption used with SSL. The down side is that for the new features such as file tranfer, chat e.t.c you have to be using ultraVNC on both ends and it is Windows only as far as I know. You can you any version/platform of vnc to view though as long as the encoding are the same. That you would have to settle once you set the class up.
