Ok the third time I have asked this, but is there a good way of making the proton streams from ghostbusters with particles or even at all in blender
I would probably start using a beveled curve for the innermost energy stream, maybe use a displacement texture or a wave modifier with an emission texture, then for the outer energy arcs, I would emit from a circle object that goes around the curve at the muzzle of the weapon, put an emission material on the particles and give them motion blur. Maybe add some curve guide force fields. If you want realistic lightning patterns, you can try using the laplaican lightning addon (http://funkboxing.com/wordpress/?p=301). Post process with fog glare
