Prototype GTA

For many years I have been using the BGE, UPBGE 0.2.5 and now the Range Engine game engines, as these engines have proven promising in terms of performance for my i5 notebook, 8GB RAM, Intel UHD Graphics.

Currently I am only using Range Engine, which is the only one of this legacy that offers the best performance and is receiving updates.

Given this, I am willing to embark on the journey to build a game very similar to GTA. I started on the road to make my GTA, but there are several problems that hinder this process a bit. My work, family and problems that arise unexpectedly.

But even so, I will dedicate myself as much as I can to bring at least an advanced prototype, to prove that it is indeed possible to create a game in this style in Blender. Many have despaired at the false ease that other engines deliver, but I still believe in the potential of the old legacy of Blender 2.79.

So I will be posting updates “Road to GTA” on my first YouTube channel. I currently have 2 channels. It won’t be quick, when I can work on it I will be moving forward.

For a considerable period, there will be no definitive models in my prototype. These will be built from scratch in Blender, should the game mechanics reach a good potential.

Results soon…

I’m just sharing a small update via a photo of the map, which is still under construction, to let you know that the project is in progress. I’ll soon post a video explaining more details about the project, its current progress, and plans.

News… Basic Movement System Test.

Note: Recording my project with a screen recorder simply causes some Profile parameters to increase; when I’m not recording, those parameters no drop and run at standard levels. I’m using a home laptop with an i5 processor, Intel UHD graphics, and 8GB of RAM.

I’ve managed to create a foot-placement system; now I need to implement it into the prototype shown in the video and introduce other improvements and bug fixes. Once that’s done, I’ll go back to working on vehicles and the project’s city.
