PSA: Degrees of Freedom and IK Solvers

Hopefully this might save a few people some bashing of their heads into hard pieces of wood.

A limit of min=0 and max=0 isn’t the same as locking an axis. In fact, it seems to be the opposite. It’s the same as min=0 max=360 (or min=-180, max=180), it gives complete freedom.

edit: can someone verify this, just so i don’t go an change the blender wiki which says min=0, max=0 is the same as locked. i’m a noob to blender, so i might be screwing up somewhere else.

To lock an axis, there is a button that says “Lock X (or Y or Z) Rot” that will do that.

But yes, I see your point about limiting it from 0 to 0.
