Pug with Multires Help

I started with a base mesh cube with Subsurf 3 and applied it and made a very very basic shape for a muzzle and a barely extruded face for a nose and then went into sculpting to finish it and I think it turned out well, but now I have no clue how to texture and give it a material without applying the multires, which of course would make way too many verts and slow my computer way down. This Pug was just for fun, but if there is no way to fix it, should I just abandon it?
