This is my first actually rendered project. I’ve been modelling in blender for quite some time now but I felt like it was time to work with lighting/texturing to get better in general and to work at bigger projects in the future.
So I saw the new Star Wars and of course I noticed C-3PO’s red arm. I thought it might just be a coincidence, but then I realized it was his left arm, that got replaced, and I was pretty sure it had to be a reference to MGSV. In that game, Snake also has his left arm replaced by a red prothesis.
And so things just kinda went along and I finished my first rendered scene in blender. I think it went pretty well for my first render ever, but I gotta say I’m not completely satisfied with it yet. The model is a little inconsistent due to all the edge loops I used with the SubSurf modifier and some of the materials didn’t turn out quite the way I wanted them to. And for some reason the smoke didn’t appear in the render but that’s okay.
I might come back to it some day to clean it up a little but for now I’m quite happy. ^^
Here’s the official promo art for MGSV I tried to recreate:
And I did a second render because I wasn’t certain if the eyepatch fits C-3PO or not
And btw: I didn’t play The Phantom Pain yet, so no spoilers please! ^^
