Put a seam around every face?

I was unwrapping a head today and you’re inevitably going to get some stretching around the nose area etc and then it struck me. Why not put a seam around every face, select all faces and then seam it all? I unwrapped it and what you get are correctly sized faces covering all of the texture.

The only bad thing about this is that it’s hard to edit the texture in photoshop, but how often do you do that nowdays. You use substance painter right. And it’s quick and easy to do too?

thats alot like lightmap pack unwrap option.

downside to this is lots of wasted pixels. if your texture is hires enough, then you shouldnt notice stretching.

why dont you give it a try and see how it works out.
