Putting texture onto an object

I’ve been wondering for a while now. I have a skin texture that I want to put onto a head I’ve made, but I don’t know how to do so. I have the texture inside blender, but as I said, I don’t know how to apply it to my object.

I would start with the materials, then go thru textures. That should be enough to get you started.
