Python and .stl export???

I am using Blender 2.46 and need some help changing a .blend file to a .stl formated file. I have seen a couple things that suggest using python to accomplish this, but I am not sure how to do it. Is there anyone out there that has some Ideas for me? Thank you for your help.

That format does not require Python. Just look in the export menu.

Thanks, but I am using blender 2.46 and when I went to save the file in the render toolbar, .stl did not appear in the drop down menu. Do I need to find an older version, or should I continue to try the python method?

Again thanks helping.

Jason

Hi,

File–>Export–>STL it’s the third option from the very top. It’s not a python script, it’s hard coded into Blender.
