I just downloaded Python and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find some nice scripts for blender.

Check the python and plugins forum a little ways down from this one.

Ones to try or do a search for:
Beast
Fiber script (ripsting is the author)
Lsystem (be sure to get the updated version)
and many others, just look around.

If you start blender from the top-level directory where you untarred it into, you will have access to the bundled scripts through some kind of menu in the UI…
