My computer, XP prof, amd athlon 2.0 ghz and 1 gb of mb ram and 64 mb ram Gforce. A while ago when I got this new pc, I installed Quake 3 arena. I played it alot and also downloaded cools mods for it. A while later (2 months or something) the quake engine took 15 minutes to load and that was totaly new to me because it always started in 20 seconds. And at this time the Quake engine doesn’t start anymore. When I click the icon to start Quake 3 arena, it just opens a menu to load some text, then it load 2 rows of text and suddenly srash. When I wanted to play a another game made with the quake engine (medal of honor) it has the same problem. So does someone knows what’s going on, The Quake engine doesn’t do anything then just load 3 rows of text and scash. Do I need to download new drivers or is it the opengl. I really want to play medal of honor and quake again. I installed the games quake and medal of honor for 4 times now and and the engine doesn’t start anymore. So I hope someone can help me with this.

Did you recently update your drivers?
My old card (Jaton Geforce 2 mx 440 w/ 64mb) had a problem with the quake engine (and only the quake engine games) where the movies (the id logo, the different tier intro things) would go REALLY slow, and the menu would go at like 5 fps. I went back to my drivers that came with the vid card and it worked fine. Try going back to the original drivers.
