Hi. I’m not professional, just a Blender lover and big enthusiast. I heard that 3 drives setup can speed up Blender, but I cannot find anywhere some precise explanation.
Something nearest explained I found here , this part:
Ok, I can understand that:
- OS and Blender should be installed on one SSD, speediest one - done
- .blend file, assets, baking cache, what ever resource is used for project, should be on another drive - will do so
- I cannot understand what are “archived files” on third drive
Of course, I’m using above link as reference, because as said, I didn’t found better direct explanation regarding topic and because I think this guy knows what he is talking about, but if someone has better recommendation - be free to shoot.
I’m interested in this for my new configuration I recently assembled:
-
Ryzen 5 3600
-
Zotac GTX 1650 (budget )
-
Corsair Vegenance LPX 3200MHz 2x16GB
-
Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVME 500GB - this is where my OS’s and Blender are installed
-
Western Digital 2.5" HDD 5400rpm 500GB - this is where project files will go and it is planned to be replaced with SATA SSD asap
-
Western Digital 2.5" HDD 5400rpm 1TB - planned to be replaced with SATA SSD in future
Many thanks.
