Question about camera and walk mode

Hi, hope this is the right place, I use Blender 2.69 I still am learning the basics. And I was wondering it would be great if I could use the camera walk mode or any mode for that matter, a mode where the buttons WASD are used to move around. I come from Hammer a mapping program, when one presses Z the WASD become the camera movements. Is this is in Blender? from what I understand it is though I cannot see it.

I can’t find the walk mode in the user preferences for some reason is there something I am missing.

Thanks for your time.

If I’m understanding right, all you must do is press Shift F and you enter the fly mode. In 2.7 gravity can be activated using the “tab key” to make a “walk” mode.

Video about it:

Thanks, I really appreciate the answer and the video, I am sorry it was my mistake WSAD works in Fly mode. It is that it takes a bit of time for the WSAD to start movement of the camera.:o I wonder is there a way to make WSAD react faster when the buttons are pressed or smoother I mean? like hammer for example. I know they are different programs. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks again.

Blender is awesome.

I use 2.7, so it might be different, but in the User Preferences --> Input --> Side columns, under Navigation Mode --> Toggle the one you want. I’m not completely sure it’s in the other versions. But for me, it fixes the annoying delay with the flycam. I am not sure this is your answer, though…
