Question About Importing armatures

I’m working on programming a game with a friend, and I’d like to use Blender as my modeller, for obvious reasons. I was wondering if there is a format or way to export Blender armatures for my character models into a program written in, say, Java. I’d like to just build the armatures in Blender and send them over. Is this possible?

P.S. I think this kind of question goes here…

I’m not sure but I think it depends on the format the game engine uses. I think Panda 3d did an import/export for their game engine from blender so it’s possible, but depending on the format you may have to code the export yourself.

This depends on the program you are using. If it is written in Java, C, C++, Ada, Cobol or whatever doesn’t matter. You can check for other 3D engines.
I haven’t seen much formats with armature export from Blender. Collada export should do it. If not yet then in the near future. It is an open format as far as I know.

There are a few engines supporting blender format directly.
