Question about skinning

I would like to know if it is possible to use armature and bones to deform objects made exclusively of edges and vertex (trying to do somekind of stickperson in a stick world etc…)

Entirely possible, unfortunately you won’t be able to see anything when you render it though, as only face carry renderable data. (Unless you use halos?).
What I think you’re looking for is the Wire option in F5, Material Buttons, Materials tab.


:smiley: Yes, I know for the Wire option. And it makes beautiful rendering of impossible, unconceivable mathematical object.

I just hope I will able to animate them with bones…

I’ve never tried animations with it but I think if you increase the edge thickness like toonish 3D graphic, then you’ll be able to see the edges or lines of your stick figure. You can’t see lines because they’re too thin in the 3D world but if by increasing it’s thickness, I think it should be possible.

Give it a try anyways but if it doesn’t work, don’t blame me :stuck_out_tongue:
