Question about texturing a whole part composed of many little parts

So i’ve been working on this concept airliner and Im down to the point where I’m breaking the wing apart into multiple sections and figuring out the cuts for the different flaps and such. I want to create a single wing texture that covers all those parts.

Do I have to join all the parts to create the UV map or is there a way to do one single wing while keeping them seperate?
