QUESTION:Particles in Game Engine

Hi,
i am wondering about particles in Blender’s Game Engine, is it possiable to get them in there and make a control that starts them and stops them? as i am wanting to try that sometime!
Cheers
Dave

You can’t use particles but you can fake them with Textures.

I can’t be bothered explaining right now.

Try searching.

What effect are you trying to achieve with the particles? Most can be faked as microwave says with texture planes, (using the edit object actuator and the add object function).

Regarding to this thread I´d like to know how to simulate rain in GE.
As far as I know I´ll Uv one plane and using it with addobject actuator, but to simulte rain how many emptys are needed?

As many as you need? Depends on how heavy you want the rain to be.

It might be more efficient to use a UV scroll script for rain, then you dont end up with as many poly’s on screen at one. However there would be a lot of alpha to calculate. Pro and Cons. Experiment!

Hi, Actually, I want to draw and use in game a lightsaber. But how can I use “halo” effect or faked version of it?
Please help…
