Question

Hey guys, I’m new to these forums. I’ve been using blender for about 2-3 months now. I learned that rendering was done through the CPU. What I want to know is that, is it possible to render using both the CPU and GPU? I’ve got a Geforce 8600M GT on this laptop. I’d like to be able to use some of that gfx memory in rendering stuff. Anyway to do this?

Actually, your rendering doesn’t touch the CPU. It uses your graphix card to render.

@blenderman345, what version of Blender are you using? Blender only uses the CPU for rendering, not the GPU. The only thing that Blender presently uses the GPU for is graphics viewport acceleration via OpenGL.
